Homebodies

The weather once again changed our plans for the day. The forecast was for 30% chance of precipitation, so we spent another day at home. There are lots of things for us to do to keep busy in the fifth wheel. Josie started on another afghan, and I did more work on my new cross stitch, along with doing some work on the computer to sort through future workamper opportunities.

We send out resumes in response to some opportunities that peak our interest, and some of those get responses that require follow up from us. One of those opportunities - a Caretakers/Management opportunity in CA at a small resort on Lake Shasta - really got our attention. It is a year-round opportunity and was at a very desirable location. We made the initial cut and they wanted to schedule a telephone interview with us yesterday. The more we talked about it, the more we thought that we should pass this time as we have commitments already scheduled that would interfere with their start date requirements. I sent an email to the resort indicating that we would appreciate future consideration, but we had to pass this time around.

We are looking at similar opportunities that are in great locations and offer nice benefits for a longer period of time. This winter is already committed for Josie to work as a regular part time employee for Phoenix Flower Shops. They made it very clear to her before leaving last year that they wanted her to work as much as a few days per week plus holidays. With our (tentative) planned return to Jackson again next summer, we have the next year already planned. Next fall/winter is still up in the air, so that is what we will target for a new opportunity. Our trip to Alaska is still on the back burner, but there are many things that have to happen before we tackle that long journey. It's fun to think about all the possibilities, and as long we remain healthy enough to travel, we will continue with this wonderful lifestyle.

We start another work week today and are hoping for a clearing trend so we can get back outside and do some biking and hiking...
