Mostly Computer Stuff

I have a computer cable that I purchased with software when I bought my old computer about 7 years ago. It is called Windows Easy Transfer and it was a cinch to use to transfer most of everything from old computer to new. I located the cable yesterday and connected it to the two computers. The problem was that I couldn't get them to recognize the connection until later in the day when I just reversed the connection of the cable. That's all it took. While trying several other methods of transferring data during the day - USB Flash drives, Spare hard drive and CD copying - the discovery of switching the connection was a welcome relief. Just about everything is transferred now that I need to use and it just requires some tweaking to make it efficient.

We attempted to do some Christmas shopping at Costco and at Sam's Club, but just ended up buying a few items at each location that we really don't need. That is the norm when you go to these stores. The secret is to buy stuff you really don't need while keeping your bill under $100. We did accomplish that although we had to renew our annual membership at Costco for $55 which pushed that bill over $100. Other than that, we escaped with minimal damage. With only 2 more days left before Josie begins working at the flower shop (design center, actually) we need to get all the Christmas shopping done by then.

It looks like the weather is in for a major change. It is getting cooler and with a storm forecast for the end of the week, it will get wetter to boot. Last night we had some significant winds which we have been lucky to avoid since we arrived. We'll take out the long pants and long sleeve shirts for awhile. You still can't beat the climate here in winter, no matter what anybody says...
