Our schedule allows for a tiny break during the week. We are scheduled to get off work on Wednesdays at 3 PM and not start work again until 11 AM on Thursdays. Our problem has been that we rarely get off on time at 3 PM on Wednesdays, and when we start working again on Thursday, we go all day and all night (on duty) until 7 AM Sunday morning. We are learning to really enjoy that brief interruption in the schedule. It has gotten to where we look forward to that mid week break.
Our managers, Terri and Charlie, scheduled themselves off yesterday and today so that they could work the last 2 days of the month with us on Friday and Saturday. Those days will be hectic and full of sales pressure to close business before the end of the month. The new couple get their first chance to work alone since they started 3 weeks ago. That is, they work alone only for the time we are off yesterday and this morning. They have it a lot easier than we did when we started. You recall that we had to work solo while Terri and Charlie went to Oklahoma the second week we were here. We are hoping for a better schedule as they get more time on the job.
We are keeping one eye on other opportunities in case the pressure creates such serious stress on us that the we decide the extra money isn't worth the effort. The money is very good, but we are also putting in a lot of hours, most of which are full of sales pressure. We enjoy the operations part and the interaction with the residents, so we'll see if anything changes over the next several weeks...
