Watching the Rain

There wasn't much else to do yesterday except watch the rain and try to stay warm. We ended up with 1.5" of rain and the high for the day was 69. It is still windy which is a surprise to us. Just about every day so far in March we have had winds in the 15-17 MPH range.

We did go to the clubhouse at around 10 AM, and there were cars parked everywhere. It turns out that we arrived there just in time for the Manager's meeting which is held the second Thursday of each month. It was an interesting discussion about changes in the park and plans for future changes. It certainly was more beneficial to the people that stay 1 to 3 weeks than for the annual site holders that have probably heard all that before. We feel like we are almost an annual site holder since we have been here probably 8 to 10 weeks total since we arrived, but it was all new stuff to us. They are having a huge discount offer for annual sites, for one day next week. Right now, members pay about $450 per month for stays up to 6 months (without moving) which is the maximum. Not too bad for somebody that wants a winter home location in Florida. Of course, you stay for free if you use your membership like we do - 3 weeks in, 1 week out.

The day is starting out clear, and windy, as mentioned. It is also only 50 degrees outside right now, so I don't know what happened to Spring. We will decide what to do as the morning progresses and we can get a reading on the weather for the rest of the day. There are only 6 days left before we leave, and I have to work 3 of those. That means we have to squeeze in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center sometime in those 3 days. Actually, the card for free passes is good for a year, and we can swing back this way after we leave Big Pine Key on the way to --- somewhere. We'll see how it goes...
