Mini Golf & Chicks

Our original plan was to try to go to Animal Kingdom yesterday but the weather remained lousy. It was overcast and windy in the morning, and just windy in the afternoon. For some reason, March has been consistently bad weather wise. Every day of the month has been windy (and sometimes raining)which surprises us. We didn't think Florida was a windy state, but it is proving us wrong. You might expect a couple windy days, but this is excessive. Actually, we haven't been able to sit outside at all so far in March. It is again overcast this morning, but we will try to get to Animal Kingdom anyway.

Our day was used to complete our second round of mini golf on the "tougher of the 2 courses we started to play last week. This one wasn't a whole lot tougher, but we didn't score as well as on the other course. It was still a very nice course:

That probably completes our mini golf outings while we're here, but you never know. They are always fun and not that expensive.

The big surprise this morning was spotting little chicks with the larger sandhill cranes. As soon as we opened the door to get these shots, the male ran over to protect his family:

I'm sure we'll see more of these as it is the time of year for the eggs to hatch. It reminded us of living on the lake in WA, when each year around this time, we would see the Canadian Geese chicks following their mother everywhere, with the male keeping guard.

It's time to get going this morning. We need to run a couple small errands before we can go to the park, but this looks like the day...
