More Seasonals Depart

The end of the weekend saw more of the seasonal people leave to take their rigs back to the Valley. Several people that we have come to know came in to the store to give farewells for the winter and give up their spaces that they have held since early May. When you stop to think about it, these people have a summer home in the mountains, away from the extreme heat in the Phoenix area, for $550 per month - plus whatever they spend on their rigs, if anything. It's not easy to find a cheaper summer escape than this. Some of the people still have to work, so they store their rigs in our storage area for $60 per month and come up on weekends to take it out of storage and place it on a site for the weekends. At $32 per day, it is still a bargain if you can only come up on weekends.

We appreciated the comments that the departing people made regarding the difference in the resort this summer. Evidently, the resort was not as clean as this year, plus the staff was a much more friendly group than last year. If all works out well, we will be returning again next year.

Today and tomorrow are our full days, 8 to 6. The days will drag as the weekday business has fallen off dramatically. We have been given the decision to close a little early at the end of the day if business is too slow. Josie will again assist in the housekeeping area as all of our cabins need to be turned around again for the coming weekend. Our hours will each reflect overtime this pay period and we will probably have overtime from here on out. It is still cheaper for the management to pay our overtime since we are now four staff members short of the summer staff. It makes us look more forward to our days off on Wednesday and Thursday.

Later...
