Developing a Dilemma

Yesterday was a long day that revealed a couple new situations for us. The day started slowly but picked up rapidly beginning at about 11 AM as the hunters began coming in after their morning hunts. We had a barrage of sales for shower tokens and hunters asking for quarters so they could do laundry. The problem created was that we ran out of hot water and the hunters started complaining about cold water in the showers. With all the showers and laundry, we had no way to keep the hot water flowing. We managed to get through it with only a couple tokens reimbursed. Most of the hunters understood the problem and just rescheduled their showers for later in the day.

We are developing a dilemma with our Workamping choices. The people here at the lodge have again stated that we can stay as long as we want and as long as there is work for us. That could be well into November, or later. Our dilemma is that we really can't commit to a new job because we can't give a definite start date. Also, two of the jobs we are discussing with owners involve a one year commitment, which would mean we could not return here next year. Worse, if we stay here until the November time frame, the chances of our landing work for the rest of the winter, December through April, diminish greatly. We cannot afford to go from November to April with no additional income. Decisions, Decisions.

Today is our last "long" day before our two days off. Both of us had overtime last week with Josie having almost 50 hours of work. Whatever happens with our decision, we will be making good money for the rest of the time we are here.

Later...
