Brrr! First Freezing Temperature

This morning we recorded the first temperature below freezing since we arrived. It was 30 degrees at 5:30 AM. The high yesterday was only 65 so the weather is definitely changing. We hope it doesn't get too cold before we leave for our next job. At least the wind has stopped.

Our trip to Flagstaff was a bit longer than we planned. Josie decided she needed to get some things at Kohl's while we were there. She can never just go into a clothing store, buy what she needs, and come out. Plan on at least an hour every time. We finally got home at almost 6 PM, unloaded the supplies for the store and settled in for the evening. One thing that was a surprise to us was the water level at Mormon Lake. There are only a couple puddles left in the entire lake bed. The whole lake has drained now. It will be interesting to see if the water returns by next spring.

We will be going to Vegas on our extended three days off beginning Sunday afternoon. The only question now is if all three nights will be at Circus Circus. The free stays that Chi Chi gave us are for two nights and three days. If we can't get a free stay - or a very low price for Sunday night - we will stop at Laughlin on Sunday night and go to Vegas on Monday morning. We know we can get a room in Laughlin for $29. That will be settled today. Vegas is about one hour north of Laughlin so it's almost on the way. We're looking forward to it.

Today will be a catchup day on laundry and cleaning around the rig. There are some things that we have been putting off because we haven't had the time to do as a result of our schedule. That, and we haven't felt like doing much work on our little bit of time off during the week. I also spoke too soon about still being on our first propane tank as we ran out of propane on the first tank last night while cooking. That tank will be refilled today - free, as one of our benefits here.

Til tomorrow...
