Maintenance

Yesterday was a "let's take care of some inside maintenance issues" day. We have been having trouble with our 12-cup Mr Coffee machine for the last couple days and it finally died completely yesterday. We also have a single cup Keurig coffeemaker that we use during the day for occasional coffee and Josie uses at night before going to bed. The most important coffee for the day though, are the cups we have in the morning to get going each day. I ordered a replacement Mr Coffee machine from Amazon and it will be here on Thursday. In the meantime, our Keurig machine will get extra duty.

There has been a steady "flattening" of the center cushion on our sofa as it is the primary seat, especially for Josie while she watches TV or uses her computer. The side cushions don't get much use unless we have company or use the sofa to lie down. Anyway, I measured the old cushion and ordered a replacement piece of foam from a company - BuyFoam.com, where else - and it arrived yesterday. It was no small task to remove the old piece of foam, and then, Josie and I had to place the original cover onto the new foam as we struggled to squeeze the foam into the tight cover. We managed to get it done last night, and now the center cushion is like new again.

Some time ago I re-threaded our window shades that had some worn and broken strings. There are two remaining shades that need to have the same treatment, but I will hold those for another day when Josie can help as they are the large shades and will take both of us to remove and re-hang. Other remaining maintenance issues are a bit more serious - like a stuck valve on our grey water tank, touching up areas of cabinets and trim that have become discolored from wear and tear, and cleaning our carpet to name a few. As this fifth wheel is our full-time home, it needs to be treated as any other residence that requires constant care.

Josie starts her dedicated time at the 19th Ave store today. They need her help more than the production center for Valentine's Day, so the fun begins...
