Decorating for Christmas

Our major project for yesterday was to get a handle on the Christmas decorating. We already had a few inside decorations set up, but we had nothing on the outside.

One of the decorations that Josie had been working on is a Christmas tree made out of wire, lights and some garland. She is very creative in the design and she almost got it completed yesterday, but needs more garland. Here she is working on the early stages of the project:

The tree will be made with a big tomato wire tower and a combination of clear and colored lights. She has the clear lights on top as the star, and  uses the color lights for the tree itself. It isn't finished yet, so we will have more pictures of the tree when she finishes. We also laid down some rope lights, strung some green lights around the trunk of our tree, and have more lights to go on the fence and gazebo. I tried to get a shot of our progress after dark last night, but the photos weren't real good, so I'll try again tonight.

Just about all the decorations are done inside, so we are almost ready for the season. Between watching some Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel on TV and all the decorations, we are into Christmas earlier this year.

We have also been trying to locate an ice bin for our freezer since ours broke yesterday. It's unbelievable that a replacement ice bin would cost around $40, but that is the best price I can find anywhere online. We will decide today whether to bite the bullet and buy a new one, or try to piece together and glue the old one.

Tomorrow is December Fools Day, so watch out everybody...
