I checked the website for Sanderson Ford early in the morning and found that the Quick Lane service bay would be open from 7 AM until 3 PM on Saturday. We arrived at the service center at close to 8 AM for an oil change that was about 1500 miles overdue. No other problems were discovered during their multi-system checks and we were happy to get out of there in just over an hour with only the oil change charge of $100. It is definitely more money to get a diesel oil change than a gas engine equivalent. We're OK now for the next 6000 miles which will go on a lot faster than the last 6000 miles. Every time we think about getting a more economical, second vehicle again, we realize that we can buy a lot of gas for the car payment and insurance payment we don't have without the second vehicle. We'll stay with the truck right now as our only vehicle.
We made a rare stop at Denny's following our service appointment and had breakfast before making another stop at Costco to pick up some items we forgot to pick up last week. It's nice having that store so close for those kinds of visits.
Our main task for today is to return to our storage unit to try to locate our blower. The mess from the tree on our space is becoming a real nuisance with the winds we have been having. We are always sweeping the little "puff balls" that it sheds. The wind just blows them around the whole space and we're wondering when this shedding stops for the winter. While we are at the storage unit, we will probably also go through some more clothing and other items that we can drop off at the Goodwill center down the street. One of our goals is to downsize the storage unit before we head back to Wyoming for the summer.
It looks like the cold front has passed through (only a high of 70 yesterday) and we have clear skies again this morning. It is still rather cool - 54 degrees - but the trend is for warming and we are looking forward to that. The word from Jackson is that they are going down into the teens each night for the next week. Glad we're here...
