Still a Rain Story

There is absolutely nothing to say about yesterday except - rain. For the first time I can remember, we have had continuous rainfall for a full day. Usually, it rains for awhile and then clears, but this time the Pineapple Express from the Pacific Ocean is taking direct aim on us. The reports we see show a couple inches of rain in most of the areas around Phoenix, and we have had 1.91 inches so far here at Lake Pleasant. In fact, yesterday's total set a record for Phoenix. It doesn't seem like much when you consider that some areas of the country receive that amount in about an hour or two. For Arizona, who usually gets about 6 inches per year, it's a lot.

It's a good thing we had the shed up and filled with our outside stuff and we were able to keep the curtains closed on the gazebo. Everything in both those areas remained dry. The forecast is for more lingering showers today, and by the time it's all over, we will see some flooding in low lying areas. We have seen some of that already on the news. I hope it's better where you are, but we are going to just watch the rain again today...
