On The Brink

Here we are standing on the brink of leaving for the start of our new adventure. Yesterday was a day of making sure we had everything ready, except packing our luggage, to leave for our training class on Sunday. Among other things, I had the truck serviced for a final trip to CA when we return from training and we had planned to get the Jeep serviced but Josie had other errands to perform and didn't have time to get that done. That is on today's schedule. Of course, we still have a little time between training and moving to accomplish some of these things. The main thing is that the storage effort is completed.

We also received last minute reminders from Holiday Retirement before coming to training, such as: bringing voided checks and ID to complete hiring paperwork, directions to the hotel from the airport and bringing certain items that will be required during the training class.

The highlite of yesterday was  a wonderful visit and dinner with my brother George and Cheryl:

We were brought up to date on everything that has been happening with their family and each of our new adventures. They are working on a new eBay business venture that is occupying much of their time and providing some extra income for retirement. We hope that takes off for them. We plan to get together again following our training class and hopefully visit with Brian and his family and our friends Cot & Lois. We look forward to that visit before loading the truck and moving to CA.

There are a few necessary chores for today - especially haircuts - before beginning the packing for our trip to Eugene tomorrow. The flight leaves at 7 AM from Phoenix so we need to be at the airport by around 5 or 5:30. It's a good thing we were used to getting up at 4 AM to work at Amazon...
