We are bracing ourselves for some scheduling issues at work. Already, we are seeing a sign that the diminishing staff is creating a situation where morning and afternoon breaks are becoming rare. With only Josie and I working in the early mornings when opening and working alone in the late afternoons on days we close, it is becoming difficult to get our scheduled breaks. This week, with the eclipse only days away, the crowds will be growing and we will become even more busy. Thank goodness we are off tomorrow and Wednesday which will be our final days off before the Monday eclipse.
There are approximately 7 weeks remaining in the season, and they promise to be eventful. Two of our employees are leaving and a third is most likely to leave early. An ad in the local paper for help has not produced any candidates to replace the departing employees. It will only get more interesting, I'm sure.
Our goal is to have the final details worked out this week for our next move in October. Only a couple of issues remain to be resolved, but they are fairly large ones. We are anxious to get it all done so we can begin our planning...
