We received a notice yesterday from the Texas Lakeside RV Resort that was a surprise to us. We must still be on their mailing list as the alert came through to us about an evacuation that is planned there over the next couple of days. The tropical storm (Harvey) that is forming in the Gulf is now near hurricane force and is expected to hit landfall in the next couple days - dead center on Corpus Christy near Port Lavaca. We feel bad for the folks that are there and are thankful that we have left the area. I'm sure that the damage will be substantial at the Resort, as there are lots of new construction with cabins and other new RV facilities. Good luck to those folks.
Back to this area and our Visitor Center. We heard that the couple that we work closely with is leaving early next week to help with their son in AZ who going through a separation with his live-in girlfriend. The son and girlfriend recently had a child and they are going to help with the situation. That really puts pressure on our manager to come up with a workable schedule. With only one month to go in the season, it looks like we might have to prepare for some unwanted hours. We'll see. We should know more today when return to work at 11 AM.
Josie is expected to solidify her winter schedule at the flower shop this morning. Right now, they want her to work at the 19th Ave store which is a good fit for her. More on that as we hear more this morning...
