It looks like the official destination for the winter season is back to Arizona. With all of the close attempts at a few other nice options, the flower shop in Phoenix produced the best option for Josie - and I will take care of other business. There are several things that we need to accomplish over the winter that can only be done while in the Phoenix area, so that option is in our best interest for now. Our plan now is to leave here in early October, take our time to drive to Phoenix and Josie will begin working at the 19th Ave store sometime around October 15. We still have our reservation at the Pioneer RV Resort which has become our home base for now.
The tropical storm expected to hit the coast in Texas is now predicted to become a Category 3 hurricane by the time it hits the coast on Saturday. It will hit Port Lavaca almost dead center, so there will be some major damage in that area by the time it goes through. At this time, there is 35" of rain forecasted for the area and the storm surge will undoubtedly hit the RV Resort where we worked for a brief time. We pray that all the folks we met while there will be safe and not suffer any major damage.
With just over one month to go here in Jackson, things are beginning to take shape for the foreseeable future...
