We mentioned in our entry a couple days ago that while in the Palm Springs area we stopped at several flower shops. Josie received a call yesterday from Palm Springs Floral asking her if she would be interested in working for them during the holidays. Their plan for her is to use her as a contract designer during the busy Christmas season - December 17 - 23. She would work 8 hours a day and make a nice hourly wage. Considering that our chances of making any money here are slim to none, she agreed to do the work. I immediately called our membership campgrounds in the Palm Springs area and was able to get reservations at the Thousand Trails park in Palm Desert and the Western Horizons park in Indio that will cover us until at least the 7th of January at no charge.
As we were scheduled to work between 6 PM and 9 PM yesterday, we gave our notice to Mike and Sharon and told them we would be leaving on Thursday, the 10th of December. They were very understanding and indicated that they expected us to be leaving. They tried very hard to get Jeff, the owner, to get us scheduled at least one extra day for pay so we could make some money. They also know that, as a result of the slower than anticipated growth of this park, that their jobs may be in jeopardy in the near future. They too are beginning to search for alternatives.
We also have been in contact with a nice park in Lincoln City, Oregon, that may be a possible long term Workamping position. It is a KOA park and they are well established. That could be a real winner as it is a position that is pay for all hours worked plus a full hookup site. It is also in a desirable area. We'll keep everybody posted on that development.
As for now, we feel like we are again on the right track to creating the "right" environment for ourselves. Until tomorrow...
