Just as we had hoped, Josie was asked to work another day, today, as a result of an influx of orders for Christmas. She also worked an extra hour last night, so it appears that they like to have her around when it's busy. Our other hope is that the owner, Brent, decides to ask her back on a regular basis after the Christmas holiday.
My day was again very busy yesterday. I prepared some gate arms for our entry station - four of them - which were painted with yellow and black stripes. Apparently, we go through a lot of those as people crash through them for whatever reasons. We also had a major leak in our water system that was located out along the street. Several of us were there to assist in that repair. Then there were the usual minor problems with the rental trailers. They need to update those in the worst way. All of them are about 20 years old and need major renovations.
Today we have to complete the replacement of the horseshoe pit backstops since there is a huge tournament scheduled for this weekend. That involves setting some posts in concrete. I need to be very careful that I don't hurt my back with this kind of work. That is the only fear I have while working this job.
Other than that, we are ready for Christmas. We will try to get to church tonight if Josie can get off work early enough.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
