Still Not Summer

Here we are in the second week of July and we are still going down to the low 40's at night and going only to about 72 during the daytime. It should be 50's at night and low 80's during the day. We suspect that the cold Spring and early Summer are contributing to the smaller crowds so far. Plus, we have had more rain than normal. I guess the law of averages says that it's our turn for the upside-down weather.

There is lots of behind the scene buzz at the office regarding schedules and we expect to see some big changes soon. Our pay period ended Saturday and we only had 46 hours for the last two weeks. That won't cut it for us. Even though the extra time off is nice, the weather has not provided good opportunities to take advantage of the extra time. If we go to 4 or 5 days each week, you can bet that the weather will be beautiful.

We are looking forward to having our awning fabric replaced on the main awning this week. On Thursday, the RV tech is scheduled to come to perform that duty. The current fabric has deteriorated so badly that we cannot even open the awning now without having the seams split even more. It is so bad that the awning doesn't roll all the way up when closed.

Our work day today doesn't start until 12 noon and we close the Center tonight at 7 PM. Of course, there are thunderstorms in the forecast for today...
