No Wyoming This Year

We decided yesterday that, with all of the new home related activities and requirements to make sure everything is OK with the construction and other must-do activities, our planned trip to Wyoming for the summer should be cancelled. I sent and email to Judy, our manager at the lodge, outlining the decision and the reasons we are asking for a "bye" this summer. It just turns out to be too many things that have to happen, and happen flawlessly, in order for us to arrive in Jackson about a week after we are scheduled to close on the home. It was a very tough decision, and we hope to be able to return next year.

Spending the hot summer in AZ is not exciting, but getting the new home all set up is. We are fortunate to have our jobs that will carry us through the summer even though we would have made more money in Jackson.

I took a couple of nice shots yesterday during my speed-walk for the day around my one mile track. This first one is of increased activity on the lake:

and this one, that shows one of the beautiful, blooming trees in the resort:

We received our first landscaping plan and estimate for our new home yesterday. It was from the landscaper recommended by the construction manager and he incorporated all of the nice things that we wanted. This first estimate was to include our entire wish list of hardscape and shrubbery. The estimate for our wish-list design came to just over $22K. That isn't going to happen. We will take the affordable parts from the estimate to do immediately, and slowly incorporate the rest of the design. Of course, we are getting other estimates from other landscapers to compare.

We have a busy day scheduled today for Josie's day off. We will start at the Outdoor Expo that is being held again this year down the road from us at the Ben Avery shooting facility. Then, we plan to go to our model home to take some measurements of different areas that we will be filling with new furniture, area rugs, etc. Following that stop, we will go to The Roomstore furniture store that is located in Glendale. It should be a fun day...
