Yesterday represented the sixth consecutive day of rain. We are at least getting a few sun breaks now, so we are hopeful that the rain is about over. The amounts are less, but rain is rain, and it makes it difficult to plan outdoor activities.
We are looking forward to the predicted sunny day on Thursday. We will drive to Yellowstone for our final visit this year just before some major road closures go into effect on the 2nd of September. We spoke about those closures last night with the Caravan Tour Director and she was describing the huge inconvenience that their busses will have during the closures. They will have to drive about 2.5 hours out of their way to visit the areas they normally visit on their tours. We don't know how long those closures will be in effect, but are assuming they will last the rest of this season.
Along with the rain we've had, we have had very cool temperatures - low of 41 this morning - and we have turned on our main heater on each of the last few days to remove the chill. So far though, we haven't had to fill either of our propane tanks, so we are happy about that.
We finalized the schedule for the first of October and we will stay over the first week to help out with the anticipated busy days during that week. We will be watching the weather closely as we get near that week. It will be the latest that we have stayed in this area and just hope we can beat the snow out of here and get back to AZ without any problems...
