Getting Out of Dodge

Just as we expected, the heat was turned up - way up - on sales yesterday for the end of month push. There was very little else done during our hours on duty except for conference calls discussing "hot" leads and meetings to discuss them some more. There is so much productive time wasted with that stuff it's disgusting. The residents are the ones who pay the price since our office doors are closed through all those calls and meetings.

There was one ecall yesterday that occurred just before lunch. The new resident that was having a (welcoming) party for her friends in the private dining room suffered what appeared to be a heart attack (in her apartment) just before the luncheon began. She was taken to the hospital and ended up missing the time with her family and friends that came for the occasion. It was probably just too much excitement for her.

We "got out of Dodge" shortly after our quitting time at 3 PM. Josie could have spent more time in the office working with Terri, but we have learned that if we don't leave on time, Terri will let you work another few hours beyond your quitting time and not say a word to you about running past your schedule.

The rain finally quit in the afternoon just before we left. It brought some cool temperatures but it is suppose to warm up today. I took these shots this morning of our space:

and the view behind us:

It's another very good, private site.

We were both tired last night after we arrived and didn't do anything except catch up on a couple taped shows we had and went to bed early. We talked briefly about visiting a casino and dismissed that idea in a hurry. Our goal when we come here is to just relax and wind down from the work week. We will definitely enjoy this time and be ready for another trip to El Cajon this coming week...
