What a difference a year makes. Last year at this time we were in Dallas (Arlington, TX) for the Cotton Bowl to cheer for Austin and his Western Michigan Broncos football team. That was one of the most unforgettable and happy experiences we have ever had. Every time we think about that trip we are thankful for family and the opportunity to spend proud moments with them.
This year, we will be traveling to Tombstone, AZ, to spend some time in what is one of the most storied areas in the west. Checking out the OK Coral and Boot Hill will be an exciting reminder of how it was in the old west and provide some reality to the great western shows with the Earps and Clantons. Of course, Doc Holiday was there too. It is such a significant part of the old west history. We are anxious to go and enjoy a couple days in a different - and fun - environment.
Today is Josie's final work day in 2017 - amen for that. There is much happening to close out the year. The issues with the house and tenants, the listing and sale of the home, the planning for the next summer season - all of these things will be a big part of our early activities in the new year. The most important aspect of the new year is that we are thankful that we are still healthy enough to enjoy life to the fullest.
This just in this morning - a shot of downtown Jackson WY as I write this:
Life is good!
