Safely in Amarillo, TX

It was almost exactly 7:15 AM by the time we pulled out of the RV Resort yesterday AM. The GPS indicated that we would arrive at 7:30 PM local time in Amarillo. That assumed, of course, that I would drive at the speed limit the entire trip of about 750 miles. No way. We arrived at 6:45 PM local time which included 3 stops for gas, potty breaks and to pick up a fast dinner at an Arby's at one of the gas stops. While on the freeway, I averaged about 80 mph and stayed pretty much with the traffic. The weather was very good all the way.

Below are some shots we took yesterday. The first is of the sunrise as we were pulling out of the Resort in the morning:

Followed by a view of the San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff where we picked up I-40. This area had the most snow all day and the coldest temperatures at 19 degrees:

Of course, we had to get shots of the crossings into New Mexico and Texas:

We will leave this morning for the final leg into Arlington where will meet Patty and family at the hotel. First, we will grab our free breakfast at the hotel here - the Red Roof Inn.

 Getting close now...
