Arches National Park

Our drive to Moab, UT, was a perfect distance for us to travel in one day. It amounted to about 220 miles and took us a little bit over 4 hours with stops. It was around 1:30 when we arrived in Moab and we were set up in our very nice site by 3 PM:

We didn't waste any time getting to the Arches National Park so that we could do the entire park in one day. Our arrival at the entrance was a little after 3:30:

Of course, we immediately stopped at the Visitor Center to check out everything and to compare it to ours in the Grand Teton National Park. It was amazing that the similarities were so great. Of course, the items were for the Arches Park, but the biggest difference was that this was a book store and carried no apparel:

It was an interesting conversation that we had with our cashier as we discussed the differences. It would be an option for us to work at this store - or, probably any other National Park store - with our experience in Jackson. At any rate, we then drove into the Park.

There were so many photo opportunities and we stopped at most of the popular locations. We took many, many pictures, but this is a sampling below. Starting with some of the unique rock formations:

And then, of course, some of the Arches:

There were also Petroglyphs:

and other spectacular views within the park:

Our schedule for today includes a visit to the other National Park in the area - Canyonlands National Park. We expect to get as many or more photos as yesterday and we are excited about the day ahead. The weather is perfect and we will be on our way shortly...
