Like Christmas Years Ago

I remember many years ago when I would spend most of Christmas Eve and Christmas morning assembling toys and other gifts for the kids. It is similar now except they are not toys and they are not Christmas gifts - although one could say they are kind of like gifts to ourselves. At any rate, I spent a good portion of the day assembling a couple book cases for the family room and finishing up on the assembly of the cabinet for our bathroom. I still have a couple items to go so maybe I'll get those done today.

We had our gas line put in yesterday for our (future) gas dryer and our new gas range that we already have. The inspection will be today and we hope to get the gas turned on to the new line and the range installed within the next couple days. The installer took over 7 hours to do the job as he ran into problems with the wall behind the range and cabinets. It seems that the builder went overboard in placing studs in that part of the wall and the installer had to cut through the drywall in a couple places in order to route the gas line to the stove. So now we have some drywall repair to get done when the gas line is all checked out and working. Jobs are never as easy as they seem they should be.

Josie has off today and tomorrow so we expect to get major progress made on the remaining boxes and items that need to be put away. It is almost to the point of having only "sort" boxes to go through and the move can be classified as done...
