Unusually Tough Night

What we thought what would be a dull and boring night at work turned out to be a tough one. We actually had over 60 check-ins on a night that was suppose to be slow. The big difference in the check-ins was the percentage of Chinese that were checking in - over 50% of the guests. Now must be a good time to visit China because it seems like the whole population is here in Jackson. We are wondering what has caused the explosion of Chinese visitors. Maybe they all know about the winter rates going into effect on the first of October where it is now about 50% of the summer rate. The thing that makes it especially tough is the fact that none of them can speak enough English to understand what we are saying. It takes twice as long to check them in versus English speaking guests. Oh well, only three more working days to go.

I started the prep work yesterday morning by moving the bike rack from the Jeep to the fifth wheel and loading the bikes for travel. I also packed away a few items in the basement and we hope to do some more of that this morning. It is very cool outside - 29 - so we'll wait for the sun to warm things up a bit. With a forecasted high of 55 today, it may take awhile to get outside and get moving...
