Mark was at work and the twins were still at school as we got to the house and had a sandwich which was the first food we had since we left home in the AM. Oakley - their seven year old Golden Retriever - is uncanny. Every day at 3 PM he knows it is his meal time. At exactly 3:01, he grabbed Patty's arm to take her to his food in the utility room:
Believe me, there was no prodding or hint to him that it was time to eat.
It was a quiet evening as Mark and the twins came home and we sat around and visited with some wine before dinner on the outside porch. The Fall colors in their neighborhood are beautiful and the house looks great:
Even though you can't see us in the photo, we are all sitting on the porch in the right hand side of the photo. Here is one final shot of Oakley watching Josie walk back to the porch from taking the photos and shows the beautiful plants on their front steps:
We hope to have many shots of the family during our seven days here as we get ready for our stay and, especially, the drive to Kalamazoo on Saturday to watch Austin's homecoming game against Ohio University. His school - Western Michigan University - is currently in second place in the Mac/West Conference, and another win will put them in the running for a post season Bowl game. By the way, Austin won the Special Teams Player of the Week last week as his team won its fourth game of the season.
Today we plan a trip to a relatively new Outlet Mall in Chicago while the twins are in school and Mark is working. It's nice to see everybody again and we look forward to a fun week...
