The last couple days the temperature has gone down to the low 40's at night. For August, it seems like it should be a bit warmer. The daily highs have still been 85 to 90 so the swing in daily temperatures is huge. We are told that there have been years when it has snowed in every month of the year. At nearly 6300 feet elevation, we can believe it. It is tremendous sleeping weather here and there hasn't been one night when we haven't used our covers on the bed. It's crazy - we need the A/C during the day, and use the covers on our bed at night - and some mornings we even turn on our fireplace! As we get closer to September, we expect to see even cooler nights.
The Olympics have been occupying most of our free time when not working. We are surprised that China is hanging so close to us in the medal count as most of the diving and water sports have ended. Without seeing details of where their medals are won, they must be winning them in off-the-wall sports, like ping-pong, trampoline and hop-scotch :) They certainly aren't winning many in track and field. We are happy to see Great Britain win some medals. It has been nice to see William and Kate attend some of the events. Being Royalty sure has its benefits. It beats working for a living any day.
It looks like there will be another golf day coming up this week. My golfing buddy, Duane, has asked again to play, so maybe I'll get at least one more round in while here. That will give Josie another chance to do some "girlie" stuff for herself on one of our days off.
Our Monday work days, starting today, will have only Josie and I at the front desk as our third person, Chelsie, is now away on her good-will trip to Costa Rica for the next 5 weeks. We feel confident that we can handle the crowd and this will be a good test for us. We'll know for sure by the end of the day...
