Changing Mix of Guests

It is becoming clear to us that the makeup of guests at the Lodge is changing. We didn't have near as many family check-ins yesterday and we had lots of older couples and motorcycle groups. The families with children were almost nonexistent yesterday. Obviously, the kids are back in school now in most places or the families are not traveling because they need to get the kids ready to go back. There were also more walk-ins - folks without reservations - than we have had at any time so far this summer. We had almost 30 walk-in customers yesterday. We were told that as the summer winds down, there would more activity like this so it is a sign that the summer season is about over.

We did some more planning for our days off this week. It looks like we will take the trip to Montana and probably spend the night Thursday in Bozeman. There is a Costco there, so we will stop and load up on some items we can use. I have to make a reservation at a motel there this morning so that we will be certain to have a room. We've seen too many people turned away here in Jackson to not have reservations this time of year. It should be a fun trip.

Duane, my golfing buddy, stopped by the desk yesterday looking for somebody to play golf with this morning. I would never play on a morning before starting work at 3 PM. First of all, something could happen that would cause us to be gone longer than planned, and secondly, I think I would be too tired after playing to spend another 8 hours working. It looks like next week before I can play again.

Our final work day for the week is today and we are always happy to see this day arrive...
