Looking for Fairs

Yesterday was the kind of day that we felt like going to a County or State Fair someplace. After researching the fairs in Kentucky online, we discovered that were only 2 fairs going on as of yesterday - one in New Castle, KY, that is about 86 miles from here and just northeast of Louisville, and the other, in Alexandria KY, which is about 163 miles from here and is in northeastern Kentucky. Neither one sounded like it was large enough to justify a long trip those distances. The Kentucky State Fair was held last week in Louisville and if we had thought about it last Thursday on our day off, we could have gone. Oh, well. We remember all the fairs we went to in WA that were a kick and were held at different times during the summer months and into September. It's probably the same here, but we need the right combination of size and time. The one in New Castle sounded like a small hometown crafts show with local entertainment and a few horses. It didn't sound like our kind of fair. There are some more scheduled that we will look into, so maybe we will get to one eventually.

The day was spent hangin' out at home. There was enough to do here to keep us busy and late in the afternoon the office gal came by and dropped off a package we received - the replacement scanner. Wow. That was actually overnight delivery, and not the 2 day that was quoted to me. Had I known it was in the office, I could have done more work on our documents yesterday afternoon. It looks like today will be taken up with that activity while Josie does some laundry for work this next week. This is our final off day for this week and, once again, the off days went too fast.

It's hard to believe that it is now September. The time seems to be moving along quickly, so maybe the length of time we are committed to work here will seem short. On second thought, that's hogwash. It still means we have almost 4 months to go.

There is still no more word from Grey's Point, so we are assuming the power outage there continues. We'll be anxious to get an update soon, and will pass along the latest report when it arrives. Until tomorrow...
