Ho Hum, More Rain

The high wind gust that I reported in yesterday's entry turned out to be a little low. The official high gust was 79 MPH! And, of course, it rained off and on all day. Guess what. It's raining again today making it 11 straight days. Once again, it isn't the rain so much as the wind that is frustrating. The summer would almost have to be spectacular in order to make up for all this wind and rain. We had stretches like this of rain when we lived in Washington, but we couldn't recall ever having a stretch of windy days like this. There would be an occasional windy day, but never consecutive days. Comes with the territory I guess.

We went into town to Safeway to get some groceries and that's about all we could do in the weather. We pulled over into a spot that was along the beach and took a couple pictures. This first one is of the surf that was churning up foam as a result of the wind:

This second picture was taken of a seagull that appeared to be flying but was actually suspended in space and just bobbing up and down in the wind, flying in place. There were several of these along the beach that were fun to watch:

We are getting anxious to go places where we can get out and take some pictures of things that are fun to see and do. We're sure those days aren't too far off. One more day and we go back to work for 2 long days. We hope to find something interesting to do today, in spite of the weather...
