Palm Springs Area

We left pretty early (for us) - 8:30, and spent the whole day in the Palm Springs area. We started at the point where rt 111 starts in Coachella, and traveled the whole length of the road to the end of Palm Springs. We had been on this road many times over the years, but never traveled it from beginning to end through all the desert towns. We stopped at several flower shops along the way so Josie could get an idea of the floral market in this area and a couple of the shop owners were interested in hiring her part time during the busy periods. This would be great if we were located nearby, but for now, it's not possible. There were lots of new buildings, shopping centers, condos, etc. since we were here last. It is still a beautiful area and is still one of the best for spending winters.

At the end of our travel through Palm Springs, we went to the Thousand Trails park that is in Palm Desert. That place is totally packed, as usual, and we got there while they were having an RV show in the park. We went through the units they had there and decided that we were happy with what we had. Good thing, because it has to last us for a long time. About 5 miles down the road, on the way home, was a casino - gee, where did that come from? We went into the Fantasy Springs Casino, signed up for a club card that gave us $50 of free slot play, and played a small amount of our own cash. We didn't win any jackpots but liked the casino. It turns out that Willie Nelson is performing on Friday night, so it's too bad we didn't go on Friday - he is one of my favorites.

We returned back home at 8 PM so it made for a full, relaxing, and fun day...
