Meeting With Park Manager and Interview

We started the day with breakfast at the Family Lodge yesterday and I dropped off the application to the park manager for the maintenance opening. It is kind of nice having a big breakfast for just a couple dollars and not having to drive anywhere to get it. The park manager was at the register so I handed her the application and we chatted a few minutes. There were several craft tables set up outside the lodge at poolside where people were selling all kinds of crafts they've made while traveling, so we browsed around that after breakfast.

It was about 9:30 when I received a call from the park manager (Kate) asking if I could come to the office for an interview with the maintenance manager. After talking with him and also answering questions from Kate, they said they were forwarding the application to the corporate people for approval. They also changed our reservations so that now we stay here without leaving until January 6th. That means no moving back and forth to Western Horizons. Good news.

On the chance that we might be staying here until Spring, we walked around the campground to see if there might be a better site for us for the long term. We decided that there were none that were a tremendous improvement for us so we decided to stay where we are and try to move the fifth wheel back one foot in the space to see if we can get our satellite working properly. Success! We moved the rig just enough to avoid the big palm tree next to us that was blocking the signal.

The rest of the day we just hung out and went to Joann's in Rancho Mirage to get some more decorations and we had dinner at a brand new Mexican restaurant that was having a grand opening. The food was great but a little pricey for Mexican food. We aren't used to spending $43 for a Mexican dinner, even with 2 margaritas.

The weather is terrific and we are thinking about washing down the outside of our fifth wheel today to get rid of all that sand and dust from the last place. That's about it for now...
