We were sad to see the great run we had at the Olympics come to an end last night. Even though we didn't see the closing ceremonies last night, we taped it for watching later. I believe we finished with 121 medals which was the third highest of all time for us. Tremendous effort. I did watch the first half of the marathon before going to work yesterday and was thrilled to see the American - Galen Rupp - running right along with the leaders for the first 12 miles. It turns out that he won a Bronze medal in only his second marathon ever. He will be around some more, I'm sure. It's unfortunate that Ryan Lochte, the swimmer, had to cast a dark shadow on the behavior of our team in Rio. It seems like there always has to be some kind of controversy in all of the Olympic games.
Our final work day of the week is today - Amen. This has been a particularly tough week with the trips to Idaho Falls. It's nice that we did take the short break in Pocatello on Tuesday night that helped soften the blow of our truck woes. Hopefully, that will all be fixed this week. We do have to make at least one more trip to Idaho Falls on Wednesday to pick up my completed bridge at the dentist. Josie has decided to wait until we return to AZ to have her work done.
Now that we are getting close to September, all thoughts will be on getting things wrapped up here and heading south. The crowds will begin to lessen in September and the wildlife activity will pick up as we approach mating season for the animals. We are also looking forward to seeing the changing colors as the Fall season approaches...
