Fires in Idaho

Our trip to Idaho Falls yesterday included a bit of uncertainty about the wildfire situation. We had heard that the fire was huge and that there was a chance it could impact the traffic flow from Swan Valley to Idaho Falls. This is a shot of one area of the fire and you can see how the entire hillside is aflame:

It was burning in many different areas, but this one was the closest to the highway.

Our fire situation is improving and we plan to take a drive today to the area that was closed for most of last week as a result of the effort to control the burn. We will (hopefully) have some shots from that area for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, we are planning another drive to an earlier fire location which was south of town, and in an area where we enjoyed many hours of taking in the beauty and soaking in the mineral spring nearby. We will go there if the road is open and the public is allowed...
