For the first time that we have been in Jackson for the Fourth of July, we did not attend the parade in town, nor did we see fireworks at night. Our schedule did not allow time for either of those activities. We did, however, receive time-and-a-half pay for the day we worked. The crowds that we had during the day in the store would indicate that it was a normal day like any other.
We had a one hour lunch yesterday as we had to go into Jackson to the Pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Josie. As a result of the holiday weekend and our work schedule, the only time we could do that during Pharmacy hours was to take time from work. It is just another reminder that our schedule doesn't provide any time for some necessary activity.
Our manager brought in some sandwiches for the holiday as a treat for us. It was a nice gesture, and made it easy for us to grab something to eat in the car as we headed out to the Pharmacy. All in all, it was business as usual on the Fourth of July...
