We were shocked when we arrived at work yesterday and discovered that there was no power in the Visitor Center. There was no explanation for that except that it was still part of the power outage from the day before when the big generator blew out in Idaho Falls. We had all gotten our power back the night before at the campground.
The impact of the power outage on business at the store was that all transactions had to be done manually. It lasted almost until noon before power was restored. It was an intense, busy, and very difficult day. Fortunately, it was our Friday, and when 4:15 PM rolled around, we were out of there and on our way to enjoying our weekend.
The smoke was still around from the local fires which were still burning and spreading. This shot is of the mountains as seen on our drive to work:
So far, the smoke has cleared out by the afternoon, but we hope the fires are extinguished soon so that the air can totally clear.
Our first day off today will be utilized to clean up around the RV. There are some areas that need to be reorganized, so today is the day. At the same time, we will be relaxing and enjoying time away from the sweat shop...
