Yesterday was a very slow day for us at the lodge. We did a few reservations, had some folks check in and basically spent much of the time accepting deliveries for the weekend. We had a keg of Bud Light delivered, a freezer full of ice bags and ice blocks delivered and several bottles of hard stuff for the bar in the banquet room. The restaurant will be open for the rest of the weekend so we will be getting some traffic from that side.
The biggest story yesterday was the wind. There were steady wind speeds in the 25-30 MPH range with a highest gust of 33 MPH. This area is located fairly close to the edge of the Mogollon Rim which creates different air currents and more winds naturally. It is a beautiful area because of the Rim but you can almost always expect different weather patterns as a result of it. Anyway, we haven't had any rain yet in June which is nice. The temperature range yesterday was 69 (high) and 46 (low).
We went into Payson after work yesterday to pick up a prescription at the WalMart Supercenter and also to deposit our paychecks. There is no direct deposit here so we can expect to have at least one trip to either Payson or Flagstaff every two weeks to make the deposit. That's OK though since we will need to go into town to replenish food supplies.
Our shift begins at 7 this morning and ends at 2 PM. We don't expect an overwhelming flow of traffic but the resort is about 80% booked for this weekend.
Later...
