Dodged a Bullet

Probably, the biggest news of the day was that we dodged a bullet with the weather last night. All day we were hearing about the monsoon storms that were forming to the east and to the north. The threat is always there for the Phoenix area when the storms begin their march south from the Mogollon Rim. We went to bed at our usual time - around 9 PM - and all was quiet. Josie got up shortly after midnight to high winds and lightening and a little bit of rain to check things out on our patio. We were just on the fringe of perhaps the worse storm of the season. The eastside - particularly Tempe and Mesa - were dumped on and received as much as 3.75 inches of rain which resulted in heavy flooding in some areas. Of course, I knew nothing about it until the news this morning.

Josie's second day at her new job was, as expected, better than her first day. She is beginning to feel more comfortable and likes the folks she works with along with the way things are run at the store. Her commute was again easy this morning as she made it to work in about 45 minutes. It may be the starting time (7 AM) that is better for her commute, so we will follow that trend. There may be a chance that she will request a certain starting time to help with the commute. At any rate, I feel better because she feels better...
