Slow Tax Season

It seems strange that this year our tax documents - W-2's, 1099's - are arriving later than usual. They are suppose to be mailed to recipients no later than around January 20 (I think). It just may be that the post office has cut back so much, including elimination of Saturday mail deliveries, that the mail has slowed as a result. This is around the time that I normally begin the data entry for my return and I'm still waiting on a couple of these documents. I'm still certain that everything will get done on time, but it is always nice to get your refund as early as possible.

The beat goes on in Washington. The latest protest now is over the wall to be built along the Mexican border. What is the problem here? Trump said on day one of his campaign that he was going to build the wall. The wall is estimated to cost $14 Billion, but nobody is pointing out the trillions of taxpayer dollars that Obama wasted on failed foreign policy. Trump is only still in his first week of office. Oh, well. It looks like four years of protests, challenges and bad feelings from the Liberals.

Just a word on the weather - improving. For the first time in about a month we are seeing a weekly forecast with no rain and all sunshine. Now, if we can just turn up the heat...
