Departure Taking Shape

The plans for departure began to take shape yesterday. Amazon got back to us with some dates to work with and also sent the background check forms for us to complete. They were done last year before we started work but they need to make sure we didn't rob any banks or murder anybody since then. Most of the paperwork that we did last year is still good for now. They will also need to have us take drug tests, as we did last year, before we can start work. The start date is projected around July 1st, with our arrival projected to be June 26th. We were planning to let the manager, Mary, know about our departure yesterday but she chose that day to take off. It surprised us that she took the day off since she has been working every day since we arrived. Anyway, she will be informed this morning, and we will post her comments tomorrow.

We will work here through Saturday, the 18th, and go to the Chesapeake Bay Thousand Trails preserve on Sunday. We plan to stay there until we leave for KY on Saturday the 25th. The Thousand Trails park is only 25 miles from Williamsburg, so it will be a great opportunity for us to visit that area. Not only that, it is a little closer to our destination in KY. We've decided to save the D.C. trip until we come back to the east coast sometime down the road. We still would like to spend some time in the northeastern part of the country and Josie still has relatives in New Jersey that she would like to visit. The week that we spend at the TT park may be the only break we get from working until Christmas, since this pilot program we will be working goes right into the regular work schedule the first of September.

It is very important for us not to burn the bridge here when we leave. We like to always keep the doors open for a return visit whenever we leave a place prior to the end of the scheduled departure. The main reason for leaving is the lack of hours they have scheduled for us which translates into not making the money that we anticipated. That is a very valid reason for leaving. Right now, that is an important consideration for us.

The storms that came through over the last couple days have cooled things down. We actually haven't used our air conditioner the last 2 days and it is sunny and cool today. It would be nice to finish our last week here with this nice weather, but I don't think the forecast is going to cooperate. It looks like rain again on Thursday. That about does it for now...
