The unofficial word that we received yesterday from our agent was that the sellers will accept our offer but request a later closing date (possibly, May 15). We have learned that unofficial news is like having no news at all and we will wait for the written acceptance or counter offer this morning. They have until 8 AM to respond. We are excited about moving forward with this house and are still researching options for eliminating smoke odors.
Our commitment to Jackson this summer is still on hold until we get assurances that we will close on a house before the scheduled start date which is May 19. Right now, we feel that we will stay here for the summer season this year but if something falls through, we are prepared to go to Jackson and wait until the Fall to continue any search for a house.
The clock is ticking and we are anxiously awaiting word on the offer. We will let you know the details when we know...
