Today we will be armed with detailed home layout charts, a tape measure and many ideas on how we want to shape our new home. It will be the first real opportunity to do a detailed walk thru and visualize the changes we have discussed. We will be meeting our real estate agent at 9 AM at his office and proceed to the home for what we have been looking forward to for the last few days since we finalized the contract.
Initially, we are thinking that the floors will be the highest priority before we begin moving in furniture. The carpeting that exists in the home needs to be replaced. Starting with the living/family room which is carpeted and we want to replace with a type of wood/laminate flooring. The bedrooms would be next. For those, we are thinking that just newer carpet would work. There are other, almost immediate upgrades that need to be done. It will be a challenge to maintain self control over these changes as the pocket book will be very light following the closing. Another immediate need is for a washer and dryer which were not part of the deal. Sheesh.
Lurking behind all of the house activity is a requirement to arrive at a solution for our RV. Without any assurance of having a space in the Sun City storage facility in time, I will have to research other temporary options. Throw in the fact that we have no tow vehicle now and we have a whole new set of issues.
Isn't life wonderful?...
