Meeting the Surgeon

My second eye appointment leading up to my scheduled surgery on February 1 was yesterday. I met briefly with the surgeon who will perform the cataract removal. He was definitely a surgeon - he had the longest and skinniest fingers of anybody I have ever met. No wonder he is an eye specialist. The office called me after I returned home to see if I might want to switch my surgery from February 1 to Monday, January 29. That was a no-go since that would have meant changing locations from the Sun City location to the Phoenix location. I'll stick with the original schedule.

I was a bit upset when I was charged another co-pay yesterday after paying one at my appointment last week. With 9 total appointments scheduled, I asked the girl at the counter if I was going to be charged a co-pay for each visit. The answer was yes, except for the actual surgery and the surgery follow-up appointments. Those occasions call for  their own, different, single co-pay which is pretty hefty. It's getting really tough to schedule any kind of major health services these days.

Josie and I are about over our bouts with either the flu or colds - or both. I still have a little bit of congestion and Josie still has an occasional coughing spell. The worst is over, and we can get on with our normal schedules...
