Arizona Winter

The weekend arrived just in time to greet the Arizona winter. It has been averaging about 8-10 degrees above normal for the longest time and today we get a chance to "enjoy" some weather that is about 8-10 degrees below normal. There is also a chance of rain today which is always needed here. The other good news is that it gives the mountain areas a chance to accumulate some snow for the skiers who have been thriving on mostly man-made snow. The beauty is also that the coolest part of the Arizona winter is still much better than 90% of the other locations in the US.

The weather will give us an opportunity to stay inside and recover from our recent ills. Josie is almost over her bout with what we believe was the flu, and I am struggling now with what appears to be just a cold. I don't have the physical weakness or serious congestion that Josie had - yet, at least. I hope my bout is a short one.

The property manager efforts continue to disappoint as they are still doing work that should have been done two weeks ago. The water was just turned on to the house which is mind boggling. The poor landscaping has been struggling for some time and it is made worse by this delay in getting water to the house. It also means that, with no water, the house has not been thoroughly cleaned inside. We are going to replace one dead bush in the front of the house which is a shame as it was a beautiful bush when we turned over the house to the tenants. Oh, well, maybe it will end soon. It is just another example of the ever increasing incompetence that we are seeing everywhere.

Just look at our congress that just caused a shutdown in the government...
