Breakfast Buffet at the Aquarius

When we used to come to Laughlin years ago, we usually stayed at the Aquarius Hotel and Casino. At that time, it was known as the Flamingo and it changed its name and ownership about 6 years ago. They always had the best breakfast buffet and we looked forward to having it each day when we used to stay there. We went back yesterday morning, and it was almost exactly as we remembered it. We had a table that was right next to a window on the Riverwalk and it was the same quality food and large selection, including champagne and/or wine if you wanted some. The only difference for us was the price. We had been used to paying less than $15 for the both of us to eat there, but yesterday the bill was $23. That's a lot to spend for breakfast - anywhere. That price included a 10% discount for using our Club Card.

Following our breakfast, we played a few dollars in the Aquarius Casino before leaving. Neither of us expected to win anything, but it was kind of a farewell to the Casino before we leave tomorrow. It was short and sweet, and we each lost our $20 stake.

We then went to the residential area of Laughlin and tried to visit some model homes that were located in a new subdivision on the top of the hill in town. The views were spectacular from there, but the models were closed until 12 noon, so we went back to town to spend our final day of gambling on the slots at the Riverside. Our usually productive and lucky machines stayed home yesterday. I lost what was left of my stake for the week, but Josie played for a couple hours on her first $20. No jackpots were won, but we still finished out the week ahead of the game and it was a terrific time that we spent in Laughlin. We will probably return sometime during the winter and will most likely stay at either the Riverside Hotel or Aquarius again.

Our final day in Laughlin is today and we are expecting a mail delivery, so we will probably stay close to the rig and also get ready for our trip to Verde Valley tomorrow...
