Yes, It's Back to Normal

With a high of 85 and a low of 41 yesterday, we can say it is back to normal now. We didn't have to use either the heater or the air conditioner. That's the way it's supposed to be.

The big event yesterday was a telephone interview/discussion after work with the woman who owns the Hart-T-Farms tree farm in North Carolina about selling Christmas Trees in Florida this year. It was about an hour long discussion. They have a classy program where they set up about 30 locations in two counties in Florida - Broward & Palm Beach. This takes in areas such as Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Lauderdale, etc. You work from 9 to 9 every day from Nov 23 to Dec 23. The money is very good, but we decided that it wasn't good enough based on the effort. We calculated that even with their bonus structure, we make almost the same money now where we are working. Besides, what do we do for the other winter months of Jan-Apr?

We also had an offer from a resort campground in Midland, TX . The problem with that one is that the money wasn't that good and it is in a part of Texas that we really don't care to spend a season. The closest town is Odessa, with the major cities at least 5-6 hours away. No thanks. We'll keep looking.

Today is our short trip to Flagstaff as indicated in yesterday's post. We hope to get back by early afternoon so we can be on standby to help out at the front desk if needed. We don't feel that we'll be needed if yesterday was any indication. It was the slowest day we've had since we arrived in May.

Until tomorrow...
