I failed to mention the fact that we received a phone call on Tuesday from Josie's niece in New Jersey informing us that her brother-in-law (sister Marie's husband) passed away on the day before Thanksgiving. He had been fighting prostate cancer for a couple years and succumbed to the illness last week. He was 88 years old. Time has a way of getting away from us and we forget that folks we don't talk to very often are getting older. We also heard that Josie's sister, Marie, is not doing well since her battle with stomach cancer has taken a toll on her. We pray that the Lord is watching over that family at this time.
We are about to close out November and head down the stretch to Christmas. Our shopping is about done - actually, it is already done for ourselves - as we hope to get things wrapped up early this year. Our house is all decorated on the inside and we are still trying to decide how much to do outside. We have discovered that folks in Sun City don't go overboard with exterior decorations. That is probably because most of them either aren't home over the holidays or are getting to the age where they avoid the use of ladders. So far, we have seen very few homes with lighting displays on the outside. We'll see how it goes over the next few days...
