Most of yesterday was spent identifying tasks that needed to be done before leaving Phoenix and identifying items that will not make the trip. One of the casualties this summer will be my Davis Weather Station. After about 7 years of travel and use, the wind monitoring portion of the station is not working. It would cost about $130 to replace the wind cups and wind directional parts of the system, but there appears to be another problem with it that I am not able to diagnose at this point. I will put the system in storage until next Fall when I have more time to work out the problems.
We have all of our Virginian Lodge apparel set aside for storage with the exception of a shirt or two that we like and will be taking. There is one container that we will fill with the rest of the items for storage.
Josie did laundry in the afternoon while I made a few changes to our TV setup. I moved the satellite receiver and DVD player from the overhead closet to the counter top of the TV so that we could get a clear remote signal without opening the overhead closet doors each time we wanted to watch TV or watch a DVD movie.
Today we get a new windshield put in the truck to replace the cracked windshield we got from the stone last week. It's nice that they come to your site now to do those jobs. We also had a new windshield put in the last truck we had so it isn't a new procedure for us.
We will place all of the storage bound items in the truck so that we can make a stop at the storage facility after picking up Josie from work one day this week. That gets us closer to being ready, and all we need to do now is get a final date that Josie has to work so that the final arrangements for the trip can be made...
